I watch as all the girls swooned over him... the new kid. I just shook my head and went to class, I wasn't going to swoon over him, i have bigger problems... hiding what I am from the world. Though apparently... hes taken an interest in the one girl who is not interested... me. This is a story about a girl who is trying to hide what she is from the world. In the beginning the Dark Ones ruled. They were fearless, dangerous, ruthless and slaughtered anyone who left the safety of their homes at night. We were only food and entertainment for them, until.... A firey war, which consumed the lives of many, proved that humans could fight back and that we too had gifts beyond imagination. These gifted humans were called Guardians. Nowadays, the Dark Ones are rarely seen and the Guardians rule though their numbers are dwindling because so many have disappeared for no reason.
