Wilbur was surprised that he noticed such a small thing, but he supposed it accounted for the surprise that he had noticed earlier. 'Oh, I prefer Wilbur if that's okay sir. My social worker always forgot to call me Wilbur and I stopped correcting him a while back.' He replied, choosing to ignore the feeling of anxiety at the realisation that was the most he had talked throughout their meeting. 'Alright mate. Oh, and please call me Phil. Sir makes me sound older than I actually am.' OR A fluff to angst to fluff adoption AU where Wilbur Soot gets adopted into the SBI household just before his 18th birthday after years in the foster system. Now, he must learn how to trust his newfound family and find that it's okay to be dependent on others. But after so many years of only relying on only himself, Wilbur struggles to do that. Wilbur's eyes snapped open at the second voice, startled so much that he almost jumped out of the hybrid's arms. He gradually relaxed again once he examined the taller figure, his green and white bucket hat contrasting the solid grey of his wings. 'Phil, you scared him!' The teen exclaimed, holding him tighter as the realisation that Wilbur finally knew his name settled in. 'Tommy, he has a name tag...' 'I know? His name is Soot apparently.' -- Wilbur is a cat hybrid living as a street cat who is adopted by the rest of SBI. Problem is, they think he's only a cat and Wilbur thinks that's all them want him as. *Cover created by me* Evil Ex-or Corex-has created a problem in Season 8. A respawn glitch-or something they've dubbed the Child's Curse. Each time a hermit dies or server hops back into Hermitcraft, they're placed between the ages of 4-8. This creates some trust problems between hermits, amplifies pain from Last Life, and takes quite the toll mentally on Xisuma as once again he has to clean up his brother's messes. Of course, there's always plus sides. Like some of the hermits having tons of fun playing as kids! And lots more chaos! At the end of the day though, it's still a problem, and some people don't know how to handle problems. *Cross-posted on Archive of Our Own*

Just remember-- Every end of a story is a new beginning for another. - Some information before you start the story: - This story takes place before Hermitcraft officially started, so maybe 7-8 years ago or so. - Despite this, though, the world is set in 1.13/1.14. - If you die, it's permanent. There are no respawn mechanisms. - The backstories for each character are based around events that happened in Season 6, which might not be relevant in seasons to come. - The total word count for this story is 49,001. It was originally published on October 16, 2019. - I try to mention each Hermit at least once, but I might have missed some. DISCLAIMER: This book does hint at a bit of shipping. (As of the point of writing this there is no plot to the Origins SMP. Aka, I get free artistic range, score! No ships. Weird plot. Wtf am I doing?! Why am I going this?! No prewritten chapters... He doesn't even want friends, why did he agree to a journey that heavily entails meeting others and becoming friends enough with them you can win back your world with them? Ah, f*ck it! Here we go again. Tldr/aka: Tommy is trusted with important task. What a horrible decision that was.... (Holy sh*t, this is like Avatar the Last Airbender! I was not meaning for that to happen, dear lord!)

[On Hiatus] Philza Minecraft can't seem to help but stumble into little kids and adopt them. Mob hybrid or otherwise, Philza Minecraft finds himself the father of young children he's very attached to and now needs to care for them despite not knowing their origins. As time goes on, both him and his children find where they want to fit in the world. ........... Anyway it's just an SBI thingy. Like how the family Dynamic happened. It's like a Minecraft au. There aren't enough of these on Wattpad. Some of this is inspired by the song "Hell's coming with me" great song, you should listen :D ... So apparently this book has kind of become a rehabilitation center for angst loving people who now have trust issues. So, Join us! Have some fluff! It's good for you... Somehow. Admittedly, the farther I got into this, the darker it got, and I'm definitely planning a huge turn to get back to the fluff, but with the current hiatus situation, uhhhh, GL. (This isn't a DSMP fic, but I do reference it a lot. It's more of a parallel universe than anything.)

Tommy and Tubbo are twins. They are 13, but when they are introduced to a new family, they feel nervous. They do not feel like they fit in with the 16 and 17 year olds. Wilbur's life hasn't exactly been easy, but he likes to think he's handled it well. His father was an alcoholic who died when Wilbur was a kid, leaving Wilbur's newly widowed mother to provide for them. Wilbur had always been a responsible kid, one who sometimes cleaned up beer spills and threw away takeout boxes. So when he sees his mum come home dead tired at five in the morning, Wilbur resolves to do whatever it takes to make life easier on her. He learns to clean, and when he's old enough, how to cook. Wilbur finds respite at school, where he's considered funny, popular, attractive, and has friends, even if he does keep everybody at arm's length. Tragedy strikes again, and his mother comes down with cancer when he's 16. She's gone a year later. Wilbur likes to think that he handled it well. And yeah, maybe he was angry at the universe for a while, but who hasn't been? The important part is that he picked himself back up and let himself be happy. He hit a rough patch financially but finally managed to save enough to go to college. It'll be odd being there as a 23-year-old, but he can make it work. Not long after he makes it there, he meets his roommate Phil. If there was one thing he didn't expect, it was that he would find himself growing attached to Phil and Phil's family. Who probably barely knows he exists. ... This cannot end well. This is a non-YouTuber au and has a prequel called "Accidental Adoption"
