After her brother exposes the once secret kingdom of Edhellond, Princess Alphen must journey to Mirkwood to face the Elven King. In return for her power over the sea, Thranduil promised to retrieve her mother's stolen jewels from The Lonely Mountain. However, Thranduil has other interests in mind. He intends to use her power to strengthen his own kingdom. Unaware of his plan, Alphen slowly falls in love. Her loyalty is divided. Will she choose her brother and home or her new love?
