story begins after vol 1 of season 5. mike and will have always been close but conveniently after will saves him, they become even closer. mike is the heart and he always has been, he's fierce and protective, especially over the ones he loves. will has always felt safe with mike, especially after the trauma he endured when he was little. that never seemed to have left him.

Why? because I gotta have a sexuality reason for this poly ship and I hate homophobes for saying "no canon sexuality, they are straight" so Imma do a that. Will is canonically Gay and Max is canonically Bi and Robin is canonically lesbian. Yes, Max is bi. El has no canon sexuality. Steve has been stated to be canonically straight by himself in the show thanks to Buckley. so everyone else is multisexual in some way. After the events with the mind flayer and Billy, Will's feelings for Lucas and Mike have come back from he was a child. As a anxious response, he writes them down only for Mike to dare Lucas to read Will's journal not knowing its a diarie.

Set just after s4 while the Byers are staying with the Wheelers ♡ Mike and Will are just friends,right? However,when Will has a nightmare one thing turns into another and Mike goes from just comforting Will to spilling secrets of his own. Afterall,they do say you're more likely to confess things when you're tired,and Mike isn't just tired from sleep deprivation,he's tired of lying to his best friend's face... It's been 2 weeks since the rift split in Hawkins and the Byers are packing to move back to follow the expectations of the Military.
