Hailey and Jay had been married a month and were settling into that life well. There were still a few bumps they experienced as they grew accustomed to the new change but like most of the bumps they had come across in the past, they got over them without a problem. The overall reception of fifth and final book in the selection series has been less than satisfactory. Many would say this is due to it feeling rushed and I dare say the majority of Selectioners felt Eadlyn ended up with the wrong person. In this alternate ending which jumps in right after Hale leaves in Chapter 29 but right before she goes to propose to Kile, Eadlyn gets a visit from her mother that sets her thoughts on a course she realizes she should have been on all along.
