When Sonic, Shadow and Rouge are sent on a mission to find Rosy the Rascal, things take a turn for the worse.

Shadow dies leaving a cobalt hedgehog heartbroken. Someone takes advantage of the Azure hedgehog's sadness and makes him go insane. What happens when Shadow mysteriously comes back and ends up seeing a resistance against Sonic. How will either of them feel once seeing each other? Will their love for each other burn away or grow stronger? Can/will Shadow help save Sonic from himself? And what is this?! Specimens?! Sonic and his friends found an ancient black heart gem from the tomb chamber. They just thought it was an ancient artifact but when Sonic touches it, an unknown black entity enters his body. Sonic goes through different changes for days, the unknown entity takes control of his heart and his body.
