Matilda Rivers and John Logan cannot stand each other. At least, that's what they tell everyone.
From the moment Matilda arrived at Briar University, Logan has been a constant irritation in her life. Too cocky, too charming, too used to people falling at his feet. Meanwhile, Matilda has a reputation of her own: sharp-tongued, stubborn, and entirely unimpressed by Briar hockey's favorite disaster. Their arguments become legendary across campus, filled with biting sarcasm, lingering stares, and tension so obvious even strangers start placing bets on whether they'll kill each other or kiss first.
The problem is, hatred starts looking dangerously similar to attraction after a while.
Forced together through mutual friends and one very unavoidable class project, Logan slowly begins seeing the girl beneath Matilda's walls, while Matilda realizes the arrogant hockey player she wrote off months ago is far more complicated than she expected. Somewhere between late-night arguments, accidental jealousy, and moments of vulnerability neither of them meant to reveal, the line between enemies and something much worse begins to blur.
Because falling for your enemy is one thing. Admitting they might know you better than anyone else? That's terrifying.
