Hinata Shoyo lost her mother at the age of 6 leaving Shoyo and her older brother with their abusive father. Sometimes Shoyo would sneak into her mom's room while her dad was out at the bar and look for anything her mother would have wanted her to know or have, it was her 8th birthday and she decided to go to her mom's room, while she was looking in some drawers she saw a note that said "Shoyo my little sunshine, happy birthday! Since you always wanted to be a boy I got you a binder for when you need it, I will cut your hair for you. I love you -mommy" next to the note was a gift bag that had scissors and a binder, Shoyo was happy and grabbed the scissors and cut her hair she was happy when she looked in the mirror. 4 years later she is wearing the binder and going to school at Karasuno identifying as a boy.
