| Featured on Mystery, Crime and Fright, WattpadUrbanFantasy and more | Welcome to Haywood, home of the tastiest truffles and of course, mysterious deaths. ________________________ Charlotte Alberto had a plan. She would finish college, complete her first novel, publish it, become a bestselling author and die happy. What she did not plan on was to be arrested. Turns out, someone out there really wanted Charlotte out of the way and went to extreme heights to frame her for a strange crime or as the Haywood Police Department put it, the most creative murder yet. Being a writer herself, she knew this was the part in her story where something even worse happens but things take a humorous turn when a random, quirky stranger appeared on her room claiming to have no idea on how he got there. They were both from two very different lives, had two different problems and everyone was baffled on why they were randomly thrown into each others' paths. Seeing as Charlotte believes coincidence to be a myth, she is determined to find out more about where this stranger came from and most importantly, how he was connected with everything else. In the end they become victims themselves, not of murder but something just as evil. _______________________ Featured on @Fright - Psychological Crime and Thrillers @WattpadNanowrimo - Nanowrimo 2020 projects @WattpadUrbanFantasy - Dark as Death @WattpadCreepypasta - Romantic Ravioli @mystery - Curiouser and Curiouser @StoriesUndiscovered - May 2021 @PsychologicalNovel - Crime and Suspense @generalfiction _______________________ Started: Nov 2020 Finished: April 2021 PREVIOUSLY KNOWN AS LUCAS WHITMORE Cover by @FiftyShadesOfTimmy This is a standalone novel. I will be your heart, if you will be my shield. In a world where magic supposedly didn't exist, Serena has spent years struggling to conceal her unpredictable singing magic. While wishing for a peaceful life where she can sing without fear, she sees a man in handcuffs being forced into a shady research center. Their eyes meet, and the soulbond is forged. Darien is not from this world, and he's been held captive for years. With the soulbond amplifying his strength, he can fight his way through almost everything, but not every danger can be fought with fists. Their love draws them together even as power-hungry enemies try to pry them apart. They want to control Darien for their own purposes, but he's too strong to be controlled by force. Their love is their greatest strength-and their biggest vulnerability. But magic has its own rules, and no song can go unanswered. Excerpt: I pitied the man, although with so many cops around him, he was quite dangerous. Who needed 30 police officers to supervise one guy who in handcuffs and leg shackles? I watched him walk down the gauntlet between the rows of officers. It was as if I couldn't look away. He paused and looked around. His brilliant glowing blue eyes seemed to meet mine across the vast distance. I couldn't even blink as his eyes seemed to hold mine. The trees of a park broke our locked gaze as the bus kept on driving. I took a deep breath, suddenly realizing that I had stopped breathing the moment our eyes met. I had never seen such blue eyes before-and they glowed! A shiver ran through me. I had been too far away to make out the color of the man's eyes. My eyes watched the trees, hoping for a break in them so I could see the man again. I had no such luck. --- Fade-to-black action fantasy romance Copyright November 2017. The war began because the world was too small for the egos of 3 men. It took over 3 billion human lives to satisfy the blood thirst... most of those were male. The 1 billion females who died during the war were... collateral damage, as they called it - caught in the crossfire, raped then murdered as a war crime. 2 billion males died for the sick ambitions of old men who were oh-so-wrongfully given immense responsibility - too big for their narrow minds to comprehend. They died in battle or were wiped out by atomic bombs, together with their families. Women never had a say in it: a whole world, on fire, dying, at the hands of 3 little, egocentric men. Word had it that ladies never started fights, but they could finish them... so they did. I grew up hearing stories of my mother and the female resistance. "The future is female" they chanted as they took over the power that had been misplaced in the little hands of sick men. They fought back, they murdered, they jailed and conquered - a victory that must have made passed queens smile in their graves. 2.9 billion females and 1.8 million males left, scattered around the world. The leaders were captured and publicly assassinated at the hands of the resistance leaders. The conclusion was that women did not need men to survive and were already too tired of being oppressed - for the longest time, the world had been men's and they brought it to the verge of destruction. "This is a man's world, this is a man's world But it wouldn't be nothing, nothing without a woman or a girl" - The Residents, 1986 "If only they knew..." I thought, slapping the snooze button on my alarm clock.
