Alanis dropped her hourglass, which she had owned since childhood, and it broke on the ground. She sliced her finger while picking up the shards of glass, and a drop of blood spilled upon the golden sand. Alanis was drawn in when the sand abruptly acquired a deep crimson color and a vortex formed. She opened her eyes to see that she was underwater after feeling as though she was being dragged down a tunnel. She fought to break free and panicked. She was about to die when a man with red-gold eyes suddenly appeared in front of her, saving her life.
