A girl who's been abused all her life has finally decided that suicide is the best solution. All she ends up with though, is a failed suicide attempt and a place in rehab. As her therapist pressures her into telling him what is wrong, the memories she tried so hard to forget come back and haunt her. In order to get better, Fawn has to learn to let go of the past, something she found impossible until she met Alexander. As time passes by, wonderful days full of promise slowly turn into horrible ones that push both Fawn and Alexander to their limits. Can they manage to pull through it all, or will everything fall apart?

(TH#1.5) "They live inside us all, those little demons clawing and ripping their way up your body. Normally, you can hold them back. You can box them up. But sometimes, sometimes, you lose. Everybody loses eventually. Eventually, everybody falls to them." After the suicide of her mother, clinically depressed Jemma Knight finds herself shipped off to start over in the quaint town of Heart, North Carolina. Alone and grieving, it's the last thing she wants, but probably the only thing she needs. Jacob Hall hides his struggle behind a flawless facade. At school he's whoever he wants to be; charming, the star basketball player, confident. At home he's nothing but a forgotten son taking care of a little brother with the help of a nanny that replaces his carefree mother. When an eccentric English teacher pairs the two together on a semester-long project, they have no choice but to get to know each other. Getting along will be the toughest feat, but as they discover, it's okay to be a little broken inside. And it's okay to be a little sad. Because the world is imperfect, and life is imperfect, but that doesn't meant they can't find something close to perfect with each other.

Self harm is an issue the majority of society tends to ignore or scrutinize. As a survivor of self harm with three years experience of the torment and the struggle I know it's a problem and I do know how to tackle it. This book will cover self help, ways to overcome it and how to help others. If you suffer yourself or care about someone who does, please give this a read. Anyone who needs help I will try and respond to you if you message me on twitter, my account is @k_newborough
