That's where they meet Special Agent Skylar Brown, a former military recruit with a past guarded better than Fort Knox, but it's her help during their first case together that ultimately leads Hotch to offer her a job at the BAU. Of course, she sparks the interest of all of her new co-workers, but no one is as interested in her as Doctor Spencer Reid. As far as clichès go, though, affection like that tends to either bring forth a happy ending or end in disaster. Spencer never planned to fall in love with his best friend and neither did Skylar, but with her past coming back to haunt her and the team, she knows she has to choose their happiness over her own to protect the people she loves the most.
