Ethan still got abused, but his stepfather tried his best to protect him from his vicious mother. Even in his darkest moments he was reminded by himself and Shelby (his best friend) that he'd find Mark again. Eventually they will reunite but how?

When Mark gets sent to Camp Evergreen, he expects to make friends. When he meets Ethan, Mark realises that his new friend just might be someone special. Ethan is abused and unloved, cycling between suicide and desperate clinging until he meets Mark. When he does, he drops it and tries forget. This could be the best two weeks of both of the boys' lives.
