The aftermath of Neteyam's death hadn't been easy for anyone, least of all Lo'ak. He drowned in the guilt of believing that his brother had been killed because of his own stupidity. And his father didn't help either. Lo'ak understood that Jake was grieving in his own way, but when he needed his father the most, Jake turned his back on his youngest son. Still, Lo'ak was desperate to do anything to win over his father's approval. But when Jake finally came out and blamed Lo'ak for Neteyam's death, Lo'ak found himself in the darkest place he had ever seen of his mind. ------- Ja'lia watched in agony as her best friend struggled over the death of Neteyam. Her once playful and adventurous friend had become quiet and withdrawn. His smiles felt forced, and the light in his eyes had dimmed, but this wouldn't deter Ja'lia. If anything, it encouraged her to try harder. She would help Lo'ak to see how important he is. That Neteyam's death wasn't his fault. That despite Jake's words, Lo'ak deserved to be happy and didn't need to prove himself to anyone. Follow along on the continuance of Lo'ak and Ja'lia's story. Please stop at Chapter 34 of Shooting Stars! The ending was originally written just in case I wouldn't be able to write this sequel. Started: 01/10/2026 Ended: Word Count: **This is the sequel to Shooting Stars | Lo'ak. Please read that first in order to understand my OC's character.** ***I aged all of the characters up by two years. There will be no SMUT in this book, but there will probably be a few kiss/make-out scenes. **Amazing cover made by @BENPD8!!

❝Have you ever wished upon a star?❞ ❝Yes.❞ ❝And what did you wish for?❞ ❝I wished that you would love me the way I love you.❞ ~~~~ Ja'lia and Lo'ak have been best friends since birth. They are two peas in a pod, partners in crime, if you will, and when they did the crime, they mostly did the time. Except for when Ja'lia would convince Lo'ak to sneak out to see the stars at night or when Lo'ak would convince Ja'lia to leave to explore areas of the forest they were never supposed to go to. The two did everything together. Where Lo'ak went, Ja'lia followed, and where Ja'lia went, Lo'ak followed. It was like the push and pull of waves of the ocean. Lo'ak was day. Ja'lia was night. He was hot. She was cold. It drove their parents so insane that they tried to force some separation between the two, only for it to comeback and bite them because the two decided to run away. This happened when Ja'lia and Lo'ak were seven years old, by the way. However, when the RDA returned, tradegy struck, and Ja'lia was never the same. Yes, she still smiled. And yes, she still was attached to Lo'ak's hip, but there was always a look in her eye that told everyone she was never fully present. When the RDA returned, Ja'lia's hit with a decision she never thought she would have to make. Leave the only home she's ever known, or say goodbye to her best friend and pray she sees him again one day. Started: June 14th, 2023 Finished: July 22nd, 2023 Final Word Count: 107,700 ***I aged all of the characters up by two years.
