Link is an eighth grade student who doesn't understand what's wrong with him. He has no friends, can't fit in, is socially awkward, and whenever he tries to talk to someone, he gets ignored. Not a day goes by without him crying for at least twenty minutes. His parents don't understand him, they tell him that it's only puberty and it'll go away soon, his counselors are not supportive, and his only way of comfort is food and video games. One day, Link gets a message from a girl named Dana asking if he wants to be her friend. Despite the fact that she lives in a different continent, he agrees because he's so desperate for friends. Dana has the same interests as Link and has the same issues, and the two quickly bond. They spend years being friends, but Dana isn't who Link thought she was...

In modern day Hyrule, Link is an orphan who lives in an orphanage. Because he is meant to be the Hero of Hyrule, his bunkmates get jealous and bully him for it. When Link enters first grade, he befriends Zelda, the most beautiful girl in Hyrule, and eventually falls in love with her. The two become inseparable, but everything changes when Zelda hits puberty; she vanishes and doesn't show up at school. Link tries to contact and find her, but no luck. Five years later, Link is a 16-year-old man with severe depression and a Hero chosen by the Master Rifle. He is still in love with Zelda and thinks about her every second of his life. One day, Link saves a woman from the Yiga clan members, and that woman turns out to be Zelda. She tells him about where she has been for the past five years, and once Link finds out the truth, he dedicates his days to helping Zelda feel safe and happy again away from her selfish, rich father Rhoam and her forced fiance, Ganondorf. While Link and Zelda try to save themselves from the abuse, an evil prince from another country declares war on Hyrule in hopes of annexing the kingdom, and Link must go to war, leaving Zelda. Link grew up apart of the Yiga Clan and was raised as an assassin. He is responsible of many deaths in Hyrule, and he shows no remorse or feels regret. Link grows up to be emotionless and to do what he is told. One day, he is assigned a mission to kill Princess Zelda, but something happens and he grows unable to do so.

{In the Wattys 2019!} It has been just days since Link and Zelda defeated Calamity Ganon. After over a century of Ganon's rule, Hyrule is not the same place it once was. There is irreparable destruction and the various races are still struggling to recover. Now together again after a hundred years, Link and Zelda have more ahead of them than ever before. The country needs a guiding hand, and as the sole remaining member of the royal family, that task falls on Princess Zelda. However, there is something new in the relationship between the princess and her knight, something neither one of them were willing to admit before the Calamity. After all this time, and all the heartbreak, is it possible for these age-old heroes to have a happy ending? *WARNING* If you have not completed all aspects of the Breath of the Wild game, there will be spoilers! *WARNING #2* There will be violence in this fanfiction, as well as blood and whatnot, so if you're more squeamish than most, you might want to skip this story. Link is known to be a man of few words. In this case, it is completely true. He has been mute since he was very little, no one knows why. As you can probably expect, other people his age are rather vocal, especially about him not being so. Zelda sees through it. She takes a look further to see who is behind all of the silence, but it doesn't work out how she expected it to.
