It explores complex emotional and psychological themes in a dark, at times symbolically heightened context. It is not intended to romanticize violence or mental illness. The original story was written in German. Mira's voice remains in German, while Nate's POV is in English. The language alternates to reflect their contrasting inner worlds. I hope the charm remains intact despite the shifts. The Shadow We Worship - Part II Fame is an altar. And not everyone who approaches it comes to pray. Mira joins Nate on tour - into a world caught between light and shadow, between ecstatic devotion and profound loneliness. As their connection deepens, one thing becomes clear: something dark is traveling with them. A presence that cannot be shaken. A voice that will not be silenced. Nate struggles with the weight of his role, with old scars and new temptations. Sleep draws closer. And while the world celebrates him, he teeters on the edge of collapse. Caught between worship and obsession, truth and delusion, a quiet battle begins - for control, for trust, for whatever remains... when everything else is lost.

Disclaimer This is a fictional story inspired by the aesthetic and concept of Sleep Token. It has no connection to the real people behind the masks. Names, traits, and events are made up. Please respect the band members' privacy. This is a work of imagination - not a portrayal of real lives. Note on Language Originally written in German. Mira's inner voice reflects that. "The Shadow We Worship" A Sleep Token Fanfiction A fleeting livestream. A strange message. And an encounter with a masked stranger that changes everything. Mira leads a quiet life - caught between art school, her sketchbook, and the noise of the big city. Until one day, a mysterious stranger reaches out to her. He wears a mask. He reveals almost nothing about himself. And yet something about him pulls her in. It begins with a mask she designs for him - and ends in a storm of intimacy, obsession, longing, and something greater than both of them: a supernatural presence that has been watching her all along. Caught between reality and delirium, between desire and danger, Mira is drawn into a world where art is sacred, love demands sacrifice - and shadows speak. A story about control and surrender. About two people who recognize each other long before they meet. And about the darkness that shapes us - if we let it.

When Vessel - the enigmatic frontman of the band Sleep Token - suffers a brutal onstage injury during the final leg of an American tour, he crosses paths with Kennedy, a tough-as-nails night shift trauma nurse. As she cares for his shattered body, they discover in each other a mirror to their own unseen wounds. Bound by pain, music, and resilience, the two form an unexpected bond - one that defies fame, fear, and the world's shallow gaze - fighting side by side to heal, to dream, and to be truly seen. ⚠️Disclaimer: This is a work of fan fiction created for entertainment purposes only. While inspired by the public personae known as "Vessel", "II", "III", and "IV" from the band Sleep Token, the characters portrayed in this story are entirely fictional. 'Do you remember me when the rain gathers?' Quiet, tall and slightly awkward in the way that made you think twice before looking away. But when he played, God, when he played. It was like the room listened. Music is the language he speaks most fluently, half improvised chords, half unspoken thoughts. Too sharp to be forgettable, too soft to demand attention. He didn't expect to be heard. He was never meant to be seen. And then Eden saw him anyway. (This story is entirely fictional, inspired by the music of Sleep Token. Told from dual perspectives - the 'man behind the mask' of Vessel. And Eden - the FMC. It explores a narrative detached from real-life identities or events. No real identities/names are ever mentioned or discussed. The events that happen are completely fictional. Everything within is purely a product of imagination.)

Making a deal with the God of Sleep wasn't exactly on my bingo card, but neither was getting caught up in a sacrificial ritual. The four men in masks saved me only to bring me to their own church of worship, telling me I can't go home because of the debt I owe. But a pact made long ago with the God and the one they call Vessel has me questioning my trust in them, especially when the standoff-ish Vessel of Sleep, the leader of the group, seems to know something I don't. The only way to learn the truth is to delve deeper into their lives, digging up my own buried past along with it... This is a slow burn romance mystery. Warning ⚠️: talk of suicide, murder, self harm and abuse along with sexual content. I also use swear words occasionally Word count: 85,661 Sequel: Telomeres
