The previous seventh-year students have returned for their eighth and final year since their entire seventh year was spent fighting off Voldemort and his death eaters. Hundreds of witches and wizards have died, and the population is extremely low. With not enough witches and wizards left in the population, a new law is put into place, those ages 17-25 are expected to marry and produce children in the next two years of their life. Marriage shall be required in one year. If a witch or wizard of age refuses to wed, their wands will be snapped and magic taken away. Not wishing this, the seventh and eighth-year students obey, they would be placed into an arranged marriage, based on what the sorting hats new brother decides. Who will be placed with who? Hermione is troubled by the events of the war and both she and Draco have frequent nightmares driving the two of them almost to the point of insanity.
