I'm forty two and in danger of falling through the cracks of mediocrity; also known as a midlife crisis. I don't drive, so I can't buy a fancy car to fix it. I love my wife, so I can't have an affair with another woman. This book is part of my attempt to become a writer. As well as a poetry book, it contains songs performed with Papasaurius Rex, because what kind of boring midlife crisis doesn't involve joining a rock band?

At seventeen I wanted to write poetry, at thirty-two I had to write it and at seventy-three I was startled to write it. These poems, serious and humorous, that I am posting are the result. i swallowed a rotten tongue

i know who i am. and i know who i do not want to be. i am easy in my own skin even while i struggle. i am anything but perfect, but that is okay. and i love the ocean. many of these have something to do with that. i also love people who live there. the rest of these have something to do with them. some have nothing to do with either.
