#WATTYS2014 HQ LOVE AWARD! There's a darkness that lurks in the City of Light Seventeen-year-old Connor Lewis is chased by a memory. On his first day of kindergarten he bit a boy hard enough to scar the kid for life. Since then he's been a social outcast at a New York private school. Through an unexpected turn of good fortune, he lands a scholarship to study in Paris, where everything starts to look up. On the first day he befriends two military brats, and he may finally get a taste of what it's like to be a normal teenager. It doesn't last. His host family - an alluring young tattoo artist and her moody, handsome boyfriend - inadvertently introduce him to the underworld of werewolves where there are two types: the born and the bitten. Those born to it take the form of elegant wolves, while the latter are cursed to transform into the half-man, half-beast creatures of horror movies. The bitten rarely survive. Unfortunately, Connor is on the wanted list of a four hundred-year-old bitten human who's searching for both a cure and a means of wiping out werewolves for good. Connor's loyalties are tested as he becomes embroiled in a conflict where werewolves, mad science and teen angst collide. POSTING ON TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS! b o o k # 1 Teddy stopped squirming and glared. "I don't need your help," she said scathingly in her English accent. "Just go away." He snorted. "Clearly," he said, "you do, mate." Australian. Teddy resumed her grunting, completely ignoring the irritating voice droning, "Doors are now closing. Please mind the gap." "I can just let the train crush your foot," said the brown-haired guy nonchalantly. "I mean, I don't care." "Please mind the gap." "SHUT UP, VOICE!" Teddy shouted. She sighed. "Okay, Brownie, pull me out of here." Brownie looked reproachful as he grabbed her by her hands and yanked none too kindly. "Brownie?" "Ow!" Teddy groaned as her foot hit the edge of the platform. "Careful!" He rolled his eyes. "Whatever." He pulled again and this time, with a loud yelp from Teddy, he was successful at rescuing her from the now closed doors. --- And so Teddy Errol's foot/thigh/whole leg fell into the gap between the train and the platform. Miraculously, she was rescued by a handsome Australian guy who just so happened to be her opponent in her upcoming tennis match. Lo and behold, Nathan Wren was probably the most annoying boy Teddy had ever met. Nathan was her complete opposite: always smiling and nice... and hiding a secret he's afraid to tell the world. Maybe the rude girl and the boy of sunshine would somehow end up together after a series of weird and unexpected events and later be torn apart by problem after problem. Guess all you have to do if you were in their situation is to mind the gap. Or maybe not. After all, the gap was surprisingly the thing that brought them together in the first place.

Everyone has that moment when something--or someone--makes a difference in your life. That moment may not completely flip your world, but it may change your perspective of life or even yourself as a person. I, Aurora Rosenburg, had my life completely flipped upside down. And it was all because of my 20th birthday and best friend. Back when it all happened, I believed it was a curse put upon me, but I now believe is was a blessing--not all life changing moments are bad.
