But at the same time, he always had his brother, Mikey, to pull him out of the pit, slips headphones on his ears, and tell him to "Shut Up and Listen." Now Mikey's dead. As a doornail. And Nic's unfortunately alive, left to navigate the world with his remaining two siblings and Richie Jerimovich. Carmy's back from New York, transforming The Beef into someplace unrecognizable, yet achingly familiar. There's a new chef named Sydney who helps to teach Nic that life's worth living, even in the pit. Nic doesn't know the first thing about restaurants, but he does know one thing. No matter how much you hate your family, they're still, unfortunately, your family. Not by blood, but by something else. For the first time, Nic has to pull himself from the pit, put his headphones on, Shut Up and Listen.
