You live in a small, remote village in the cover of an enchanted forest. One day, as you are taking a stroll with your family's horse in your favorite meadow, you encounter a black stallion, which you recognize as a water spirit called a kelpie. The spirit takes an interest in you and you do so as well... but maybe it would have been better if you had stayed away. She knows that crossing the Atlantic is her only way of going back home, but when the attempt severely goes awry, Ashley is helped by a very unlikely ally: a heavy cruiser of the "Fleet of Fog".
