This ship has evidence of being cannon in reality but can not be 100% proven that either one acted upon those risque letters between the two, mainly because it is hard to judge the meaning of letters from that time with 21st century logic. But it's cute, my personal OTP, and people ship it so take your fanfiction and just be happy. There will be smut, angst, fluff, you name it and it's there. Also like 99% of the smut was probably written on my bus.
