Newt has had many detective partners over the years. Some have been too bossy. Some too stupid. Some too arrogant. Some too touchy. And now he has a new one, and he's just hoping they'll be a little better than the ones before him. Thomas is happy to have lots of different partners. They always bring something new to the table, made it interesting. And now he's excited to have a new one. But, something more serious than their pretty squabbles and teasing will arise, and they must work together to figure out what's going on, and stop it before it blows out of their control.

Newt hated social interaction, and he'd never really been the one to say much. Thomas was outspoken and would talk whenever he pleased. Their sarcasm was one of the few things they had in common when they first crossed each other. They never attended the same school, and they'd never have met if it weren't for Newt being at a game he wasn't going to show up at. But they did meet, and it all seemed to have a natural flow of things until the end. An end, however, always needs a beginning. This story is fiction made up by me, any resemblance to real life events are unintentional. Newt and Thomas are not my own characters. They belong to James Dashner.

Newt isn't your average person. He's studying hard to graduate from college but danger always lurks around the corner from him. He has one secret, though, that he doesn't want anyone to find out- he's a witch. Newt's coven is concerned about him. While it's perfectly acceptable to act as a normal person in public, it's against the rules to tell anyone you posses magic. But he's already broken that rule before and it didn't end well for the person he told. Thomas works long hours five days a week to support himself and his four year old daughter Rosanna. He dropped out of college to raise her after his girlfriend left them. Being a first time dad is hard, but doing it alone and balancing work at the same time is a heavy weight on his shoulders. Thomas is under a lot of stress and the last thing he needs is a distraction. But what happens when their paths cross? Best rank- #3 in Newtmas
