After not seeing each other for nearly eight years, Justin and Laila are suddenly forced to spend the entire summer together. Now if that's not bad enough, Justin and Laila couldn't be more opposite from each other. At first it's plainly clear to everyone that they're just not going to get along at all. But the more Justin and Laila actually get to know each other - and when they aren't fighting over something stupid - the two slowly realize that maybe there are things in life they'll need each other to figure out. If Justin is arrogant, snarky, and just a bit too handsome for his own good, then Laila may just end up going insane. And if Laila's clever, quick-witted, and beyond pretty, then God help Justin. So the same thought on both of their minds? Is this going to be the summer of a life time or what?

18-year-old Farrah gets thrown into a whole new life with her best friend Olly. Moving half way across the world comes with complications and troubles, but undeniable joy and new experiences to thrive in. One of those experiences being meeting someone. He's arrogant and conceited, the complete opposite of Farrah. But like they say, opposites attract... right? She keeps unfolding new secrets within the professional environment where she newly works, finding out that not everyone is who they say they are. Trust is delicate, darling. -------- My thoughts are crumpled as I go flying to the floor behind me, hitting it harshly with impact. I land straight on my ass, my forearms flying to my sides to support me. The room spins slightly as I lift my gaze to try and see the cause that made me fall to the ground in front of so many people. Way to make a good first impression, now they all probably think you're a clumsy bitch who doesn't belong in this professional environment. I try to rid my fogged mind as I direct my gaze upwards, as soon as I do, I freeze. My mind doesn't take in any of my surroundings apart from the dark eyes locked with my own, sending daggers in my direction. They are a cruel grey, they look like shadows descending onto me. I never knew that the look in someone's eyes could make me so timid and afraid, I feel like prey and the predator is stood intimidatingly over me waiting for the right moment to attack again. "Watch where you're going next time, darling," the husky voice echoes off of the cold walls of the foyer, making his condescending tone rebound multiple times through my mind. I stay slouched on the floor, hands behind me as I stare up at him in shock, unable to form any words. His strident words still rebounding through me, words that were patronising and brutal. His eyes make me afraid, but his words make me infuriated.

Ruth has a past, like all children who grow up in the mafia. Perhaps this is what makes them so similar; the neglect, the abuse, it's what intertwines their souls. It's the reason Angelo is drawn to Ruth. You could even say it's the reason he's obsessed. It's easy to confuse love and obsession. Both start off tantalizingly slow. They creep into your mind when you're least expecting it. Sometimes they can go undetected, sometimes they dig so deep into your skin you have no choice but to fade away in the irreversible decision to love someone, to obsess over someone, to make your mark on someone. Once you get a taste, you'll never be able to stop. --------- Started: December of 2020. #1 in boy trouble #1 in good writing #3 in murder #6 in YA

"So this was all just a game to you . . .this whole time, you pretended to like me in order to humiliate me in front of the entire school?" An air of melancholia surrounded me, eyes watery like never before. "Were your feelings for me ever real?" There wasn't even a trace of an apologetic expression on his features as he tucked his hands in his pockets, before he gave a nonchalant shrug. The sudden urge for revenge became a prominent priority. He regarded me passively. "It's not my fault that you fell for me in the first place." he justified as he advanced my way, closing the gap between us. Unstably, I strode backwards on the concrete. ". . .stay back." I whimpered. "You're nothing but cold hearted." ·•● Two years ago, Emery Roy was tragically exposed to what some could call an intense betrayal all thanks to the originator - Dean Darnell. Everything went downward spiral after they started dating. So to avoid him at all cost, she did what any person would do: transfer school. Fast forward two years later. What happens when she's returning back to Roosevelt High, for the first time during senior year? She only has a few tasks: avoid Dean and face her obstacles. The only question is will she succeed or will she get fooled again? "I don't know who you think you are coming here, and acting like you don't care about anything. Now listen here Princess, because I'm not going to repeat myself. Here's a couple of rules that I'd like to enlighten upon you. Number one, you do not talk back to me. And two, you don't mess with me or the rules," his breath fans my face and I close my eyes. The proximity between us was terrifying. "I've dealt with many bitches like you, so I suggest that you follow those rules unless you want to end up like them," - he leans in. His mouth lingers near my ear, "used." ... "... You might think that you run this place, but you do not run me. Understand? And the sooner you understand that, the better it'll be for the both of us," I warn staring right into his eyes before walking away. I was more than amused by his dumbfounded expression. I stop, and turn back around, facing him, "And one piece of advice, know what you're fishing for before you start fishing. What if you find a shark and it reels you in, instead?" ⇒Highest rank: 1 in Chicklit on 01.08.16
