Malfoy's handsome face was contoured into a condescending smirk. "No faith in that giant brain of yours, Granger?" She looked up at him defiantly. "Maybe I don't have any faith in you!" she said, raising her voice. Malfoy only looked at her. You'll find I'm very surprising. Dramione AU, canon divergence, year 6 with a slow burn and a killer twist. Book I of "This World or Any Other" Series. COMPLETE. [Cross-posting of all stories currently in progress from FFN and AO3.]

Upon graduation, Hermione took up a post in the ministry of magic's magical law enforcement department and Draco started studying to become a healer. They left on good terms but life got busy and they lost contact with each other. That is, until one fateful day in November, six years later. And as you may have guessed, that is where our story begins. None of the characters belong to me. All belong to the fabulous JK Rowling #1 in Dramione Fanfiction 12/18 #17 in Hinny 6/1/18

Adelaide Frost was an outgoing, cheerful, and happy hufflepuff on the outside, however, to others she was a cunning, assertive, and ambitious slytherin. She was sorted into slytherin on her first day at Hogwarts, but the sorting hat decided she would fit better into hufflepuff. Adelaide feared she would get put into slytherin because she didn't want to end up like her mother, Bellatrix Lestrange. The only people who actually knew who Adelaide's mother was were Remus Lupin, Sirius Black, The Tonks family, The Malfoy family, and a few of the Hogwarts professors. It killed Adelaide to lie to all of her friends, but she would rather be a liar than have people hate her just because of her Death Eater mother. The story begins the summer before Adelaide's seventh and final year at Hogwarts. She had been in a relationship with her best friend, Cedric Diggory, since their second year at Hogwarts, but are no longer together due to Cedric's death. She struggled with coping by using drugs at first, but eventually got better and had her foster mother, Andromeda Tonks, obliviate the pain and guilt she felt about Cedric's death. She wanted nothing but to get back to her normal life she had lived before Cedric died, so her best friends, Fred Weasley, George Weasley, and Adrian Pucey, did everything they could to bring her back to her happy self. I DO NOT own any of the HP characters, J.K. Rowling does. I do own Adelaide Frost and any other original characters that are in the story. TW: this story contains heavy smut, language, drinking, drugs, panic/anxiety attacks, self harm, and possibly EDs. Rankings: #8 in leejordan - 2/20/21 #11 in nymphadoratonks - 4/17/21

After the Battle of Hogwarts Draco Malfoy left England. He's been traveling the world in order to gain field experience and to escape the way people were looking at him. Meanwhile, Hermione Granger is working in the Ministry of Magic, for the Department of Magical Legislation, fighting hard against the inequalities between species in the magical world. She's happy with her life, but the downside is that some of her memories are gone, especially the ones containing a certain blonde. Three years later Draco comes back home and drama starts to unfold. Lost memories come to light for Hermione, and a dark plot is uncovered. "Christine, I love you." The phantom's voice played a sweet tune in my mind. It was the first time he had confessed his love, but sadly, I couldn't return the favor. He had given me everything, fame, fortune, and a life of excitement and curiosity. Still, he had threatened to hang my beloved Raoul and sentence me to an eternity locked away from the world. My clammy hands shook with emotion as I slid the beautiful, diamond ring off my finger. The disfigured man helplessly gazed into my eyes, transforming my soul. I was the only one to look past his hideous physical appearance, to know how to comfort a creature of darkness; I couldn't bare holding in my emotions any longer. Tears plunged down my pale cheeks and I looked down to take his hand. Making sure not to drop the small item, I closed his rough fingers around the ring. "Goodbye," all sadness echoing through my word. I spun around and dragged my wedding dress through the foggy water to meet Raoul's awaiting boat. *** UPDATE 2020: Hello, all! I realized that this book recently gained traction in the fanfic world of Wattpad, again. Unfortunately, I wrote this back in 2014 and have yet to go through and edit. At one point, I planned on making a sequel to this. I don't expect to do so any time soon, but I appreciate the reads and the comments!
