My name is Krissa Grimes. Yes, that Grimes. Rick Grimes is my father.
I'm nineteen years old, stubborn as hell, and rich. And when I say rich, I mean really damn rich.
My grandma on my dad's side left me everything when she died. Her money, her land, her cars, her accounts-everything. She even left me the house my father and his family live in.
But money wasn't the only thing Grandma left me.
I inherited her powers too.
They run through my father's side of the family, and Grandma made damn sure I knew how to use them before she was gone. So being nineteen doesn't mean I'm helpless, and it sure as hell doesn't mean anybody gets to control me.
Daddy learned that lesson pretty fast.
His wife?
Well... Lori learned it the hard way.
And let me make one thing perfectly clear-Lori is not my mother. She's my father's wife. That's it. She doesn't get to parent me, punish me, order me around, or act like she has any claim over what Grandma left me.
I don't tolerate disrespect. I don't care who you're married to, how old you are, or whether you think being my father gives you some kind of automatic authority over everything I do. Grandma raised me to stand on my own two feet, and between the money and the power she left behind, I'll never have to depend on anybody.
Life was already complicated enough dealing with my family.
Then people started acting crazy.
News reports got stranger. Hospitals started filling up. People were attacking each other. And the dead weren't exactly staying dead anymore.
Suddenly, all that money, land, property, and magic Grandma left me became a hell of a lot more important.
The world might be falling apart, but one thing isn't changing:
My house. My land. My power. My rules.
And if Daddy thinks the zombie apocalypse means I'm suddenly going to start letting everybody tell me what to do?
He clearly doesn't know his daughter very well.
