A year has passed since the fall of the Calamity Ganon. Things are reliving in the kingdom. Zelda thought that things would have returned to normal between her and Link, but Hyrule's hero seems to carry a burden in these peaceful times. The princess wonders if she is the one causing him to be so distant and silent once again...

Before the Great Calamity, Zelda and Link travel amongst Hyrule together. They must learn to tolerate each other on their journey. Zelda, having barely been able to leave the castle much before him, discovered her sense of adventure when she went out with Link. Is it possible that the two of them harbored a secret admiration for each other than ran deeper than friendship? Or would Link maintain his silence and not speak to the princess at all? This story flashes back from before and after the Great Calamity. What happens after Link defeats Calamity Ganon? This story is very long, but if I do say so myself, I think it's worth it! Before the rise of Calamity Ganon, Princess Zelda of Hyrule was appointed to travel across the lands. She was to learn about the technologies of the ancient civilizations before her kingdom rose and speak to the leaders of each nation. And along the way, she must bring her trusty friend and guard, Link. But as they travel, with nobody else around to talk to, they grow to find an affection for each other that's deeper than a friendship. But how, in a world governed by politics and potential war, could they find a way to stay together?

Prologue (Zelda's Pov) Link was out on a trip, hanging with his 'brothers' like always. I, laid in my bed fast asleep. Our parents have passed on, but I didn't mind at all a both them. I gazed a my golden crest, then sighed. Link was always hanging out with his friends, but me, a princess? I stay inside all alone with only my caretakers and maids. Yes, I held one of the Triforce shards, but I wished to Hylia, my grand ancestor, about a wish that I desired for all of my life. I wanted love from someone who'd like me. Sadly, I was 14 years of age, so that limits my options. I can't just simply pick the right man to be with me. I heard a knock on the door, breaking me from my trance of thought. Link came to see me as he displayed his loyalty to me. "Link, what do you desire?," I got up from my chair while brushing off the dust. "Princess, there shall be a game of sport coming this afternooon. All the males have been chosen for the competion, but they wait for your lead. What do you desire?"

Soon, seventeen-year old Zelda will be forced to marry if she cannot make her decision on her own. She must follow the Royal Law, one which her father strictly enforces. She must chose one suitor to take over the kingdom and rule alongside her. 1. The suitor must come from a royal bloodline. 2. The suitor must be an ally of Hyrule. 3. If the royal does not choose his/her suitor in a time span decided by the King or Queen, they must be forced to marry the King or Queen's ideal suitor. Time quickly running out, Zelda realizes she does not want to marry someone that only cares about inheriting the throne. She wishes to marry for happiness. And if she cannot prove herself and her happiness to her father soon enough, she will be forever forced into a life she does not want to live.
