"I'd give it all up for you, Avery," Finn urges. His hands are gripping onto my cheeks and I don't know why I'm letting him get so close to me when I told myself I wouldn't let this happen. All I know is that I could cry at his touch. I miss him so much. "The job, the team, everything," he continues. I swallow the lump in my throat as my eyes dart between his. He seems so desperate and I want to sock myself in the jaw when I'm tempted to wipe the single tear that fell to his cheek. "Because I've seen what it's like to live without you. I know what it's like to see you with someone else, and nothing is worth that. Not even the NHL." The sequel to Ice.

A competitive figure skater is forced to trade places with a rival hockey player in order to avoid being kicked out of the rink. Blurb- "I see you have met Aiden," Mr. Hansen said to me, popping his head over the railing from the the top of the bleachers. He looked quite ecstatic that Aiden and I were already talking. "If you don't already know, Zoe, Aiden is going to be joining the hockey team starting effective next week with the new sponsorship." I forced a fake smile onto my face, gritting my teeth. "How did we get so lucky?" I turned my attention back onto Aiden, quirking an eyebrow as I looked him over- just trying to get an input of who this guy was. The man was stupidly handsome - if you managed to get past the oversized ego that sat on his shoulders. "Enjoying the view?" His sexist comment snapped me back into reality, resulting in me letting out a not-so-ladylike snort. "Please, the only reason I have to look at you is to try and figure out just what it is exactly that would make you so smug, but as far as I can tell, you have absolutely nothing going for you." Despite my effort to get a response out of him, he smirked as if accepting the challenge. "Besides the fact I am the number one center in the state of Massachusetts?" "Am? Don't you mean was? Now was looks bad on a resume." Aiden's jaw clenched, and in that moment I would have been dead if looks could kill. I was pretty sure that if it'd been legal for him to hit a girl, he would have already been on the ice by now. But it wasn't, and I'd clearly just won. I felt quite satisfied with myself and decided it'd be fun to rub some salt in his freshly wounded ego. I turned and sprinted across the ice before looking back over my shoulder and blew him a fake kiss, lifted my left leg up, and smacked my butt in a sense to let him know that he can just kiss my ass before I'd let him take over this rink.

DISCLAIMER: This story is completed, however it is unedited. I wrote this story when I was very young, and it is reflected in the work. If you are looking for the edited version of Love, Emma as seen on my Instagram or Facebook, this is NOT it. . . . . . . . . . . "E-Emma? It's okay y-you know. I-I'm used to i-i-it." "You shouldn't have to be, some people disgust me, the nerve of them." "I can't blame t-t-th-them, I m-mean l-l-l-look at m-me." He sounds so defeated, even though I can tell he's trying to hide it, so hurt and broken and utterly defeated. And that, to me, is absolutely heartbreaking. Whipping around, he bumps into me, clearly not expecting my abrupt stop. "I am looking at you, and you're beautiful Nathan Walker, beautiful." There's tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat the size of a basketball, and my eyes are burning, and my heart hurts but it's so fast, pounding a beat against my chest---because he should know. People like Nathan deserve to be told how unequivocally, unconditionally, completely beautiful they are. . . . . . . . . . . Emma Dawn is a sixteen year old girl in the big city of Toronto who befriends her school's social pariah, Nathan Walker. Outcast for his looks, Nathan's a very quiet, very gentle, giant, but everything's not that simple; the tough guy one might assume him to be is nothing like what he actually is, not with his stutter, continuous insecurities, and his social anxiety. While their friendship develops, both at school and at his families Italian-style Cafe, Emma slowly starts to tear down his walls, finding herself deeply caring for the boy she finds behind them---a boy so caught up in his life's worth of ridicule, he has no idea of how beautiful he is. Read on into the story of Emma and Nathan, where she helps him come to terms with his anxiety, breaks his insecurities, and every other social standard set to define something beautiful. . . . . . . . . . .
