This is a prequel to The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. It's from Johnny's point of view, instead of Ponyboy, and isn't pertinent that you read The Outsiders (but you definitely should if you can!) My school produces a magazine called Reflections, which is made up of only student work. Art work, essays, short stories, poems, or photos. My English teacher required us to submit either a short story, poem, or essay, and this is the short story I wrote for the magazine.
