For 27 years, Marco Estevez spent time in Hazelgrove Asylum, suffering at the hands of many doctors and nurses for many of those years both physically and mentally. Through flashbacks and journal entries, Marco's story is told, meeting many of those who spent time with him. From his arrival in 1948 to his eventual departure in 1975, following a timeline back and forth throughout this period.
In modern day, Marco's niece, Sofia Estevez, stumbles upon his journal in her father's library, discovering many secrets along the way about her family, some of which bringing Sofia's own trauma to the surface.
