This is a travelogue/memoir through space and time, from the seaside resorts of Whitley Bay and Tynemouth and the shipyards of the river Tyne in my childhood years of the 1950's and 1960's, to the 19th century coalfields of County Durham and on to the smugglers and coastguards of the far north east coast. I enlist the help of my ancestors, my genetic memories and a host of characters encountered on the way to help me discover if my northern blood sings to me of home. It is a light, humourous adventure, with a sprinkling of existential thoughts for good measure. Comments in the margins are welcome, and if you like it please do vote!
