Mary had no choice but to fight her own father to not let him do more trouble, only to end up badly for her, being beaten up almost near to death by her own father, yet she manage to overcome him with her words, which made him feel something inside, and yet to flee away...but SuperBoy wouldn't let him leave without paying any consequences for murdering the guardians, Debbie, Mary, and killing his father.
