Eventually, thorns start to grow in the victim's throat and peirce their lungs. This is how they die. Surgery is avaliable however getting the surgery also means you will lose your feelings. Many people choose not to have the surgery... Bakugo is one of those people. He has suffered from Hanahaki once before on a middle school crush and the disease strikes again...When he falls in love with Kirishima... WARNING - I will be honest, Hanahaki is a very gruesome disease so I will be writing about a lot of detailed graphical stuff. I won't show any pictures but if you are triggered by blood or intense suffering, I advise you to leave. There is also a possibility I will talk about sensitive topics such as abusive families (Nothing 18+ though) and self hate/harm further into the book so if that also triggers you, I advise that you also leave.
