''I get it,'' he said, ''the sun so loved the moon...'' His voice trailed off. We both knew the story. We knew it all too well. He was looking at me thoughtfully. I, however, turned away. ''What if,'' I began, ''the sun didn't want to die for the moon anymore?'' ~~~~~~~~ There's darkness in West Acres and, no matter how fast the light travels, it will always find that darkness has beaten it. There are decisions to make, battles to fight, wars to win, and Lou's not sure which side she's on. After all, if the darkness is already there, why not embrace it?

''You know how they came up with the word Lunatic?'' he asked. I shook my head, feeling like I probably didn't want to know the answer. His lips pulled up on one side in a mischievous, lopsided grin. He stepped closer. ''Because all of the worst monsters come out during a full moon.'' ------ Lou DeVue has known from a young age that she was different and not in the 'I-think-I-was-left-on-my-parents-doorstep-by-a-wizard' kind of way. She can see things. Dark things, usually. The darkest, of which, happens to be about her new neighbors. The five boys hold an energy that Lou's gift can't ignore. An abyss surrounds them and Lou finds herself gazing into it, but what happens when the abyss gazes back? **********************

"Had a nice swim?" He asks, a smirk on his face. I could literally slap him right now. "Bitch, you pushed me," I say breathlessly, my body shaking from the cold water. He just looks amused, as he takes a step closer to me. "Language," he says, his voice almost a whisper, "there's children here." ••• Opal Rodriguez, the girl who's just trying to get through high school like the rest of us. Until Nathan Adams moved to the house right in front of hers, basically becoming a part of her life. With him, he brought his smirk, his cocky attitude, his hoe magnet, and a cute little sister. She wanted a relaxing day at the pool. He kind of ruined it. What was just a dare, grew into a strange friendship between these two. Maybe even more than that. I can't keep the smile off my face as I take my seat on the plane. I slide my bag under the seat and lean back. I close my eyes and let a blissful smile grace my face. He said I wouldn't be able to run. As if. I'm vaguely aware of someone taking the seat next to mine, but I pay no attention to said person. "So where we headed?" I choke on my own spit as my eyes fly open and whirl around to face the owner of the familiar voice. His eyes are hidden behind those damn sunglasses and a rather smug smile graces his face. I continue choking and he does nothing other than flip through a magazine. That smug smile never leaving his face. "You still haven't answered the question." "To hell." I finally manage to choke out. "Awesome," He flips a page in the magazine, "It's about time I returned home. You know, bodies to burn, lost souls to torture, I've missed it. It'll be fun." *** Nicolette Moore. "Every time I knock you out, you drool," Phantom points at my black shirt sleeve with a gloved finger. I groan in frustration, there's a puddle of drool on it! Talk about embar-ras-sing... "Then here's an easy solution: Don't knock me out," I say snidely as an attempt to keep my nonexistent pride. "What makes you think I'll stop? Maybe I like knocking you out, and draping your body over my shoulder? Ever thought of that?" he raises an eyebrow, but a curious look passes over his face, lighting his eyes so that they resemble emeralds. ~~~ Full of comical wit, and crazy smart, Kelsey Jerrs is the superhero called Chaos. Chaos's arch nemesis is Phantom- the Villain Magazine's #1 of Hottest Villains, and the only person who can take Kelsey's snarky remarks and throw them right back at her.
