La historia se centra finalizando el período Heisei y dando comienzo al período Reiwa. Shinobu kochou es una joven de 17 años que vive junto a sus hermanas Kanae de 19 años y kanao(hermana adoptiva) de 14 años. Ella viven en la casa de su abuela, debido a que sus padres fallecieron cuando apenas ellas tenían 4, 7 y 9 años. Y desde ese momento pasaron al cuidado de su querida abuela. Ellas poseen un gran talento con la Espada, llegando a dominarla como si fuese parte de ellas mismas. Debido a que a partir de los 12 años su abuela, les menciona que fue en su juventud fue una asesina de demonios. Y afirma que no le quedara mucho tiempo de vida, por lo que decidió transferirles todos sus conocimientos de la Espada a ellas. Giyu tomioka es un joven de 18 años cumplidos vive solo debido a que no tiene padres se mantiene así mismo por su cuenta. Y tiene habilidades increíbles con la Espada. Debido a que una cuando tenía 10 años el le brindó ayuda a un vagabundo herido, este a cambio le enseño una técnica a la cual el le llamaba la respiración. El cual le enseñó por todo un año. debido al gran crecimiento de giyu con la Espada, el vagabundo anciano le preguntó su nombre por última ves antes de marcharse, el solo respondió mi nombre es Giyu Tomioka
