It had been a while since you worked alongside anyone. Usually, you would stay at home and do all of your work from there, but this time was different... Since something interesting was happening. You are an infamous hacker known as Blank (yes, a No Game No Life reference) who takes jobs from the only man known to get in touch with L- Watari. He informed you that something was different with the computers and wanted you to check them out. That was where you found it... A trace. Someone had hacked their way in. What began as a simple poke turned into something unexpected... A one time thing became the daily. As you grew closer to the stranger, you began to get curious. Slowly, questions began to flood your mind. Who was he? What did he look like? Most importantly... Why can't I get him off of my mind? ~~~~ I do not own Death Note, the characters, or original plot (although I do own the Matt love story plot in this book). Only L's great stories soothed your anxiety for a prolonged period of time. Now that L has died, your attacks have been getting worse. The recently-solved Kira case has left you all traumatized after seeing your close friend (Mello) and your boyfriend (Matt) nearly die. You have to thank Near (and his quick thinking) for saving their lives. Now, you three are a bunch of stupid kids working for the FBI, the CIA and as a video game beta tester, with nothing better to do. Matt has tried his best to help you cope with your anxiety, but he really doesn't know what to do. He has his own problems with ADHD and gaming. (You can't really blame him.) Mello has also changed after the Kira case. He has been moody an irritable lately. You've been desperately searching for a cure, for all of your mental states. What is the one thing now, that can fix all the problems?

Well, I've finally conformed and stooped down to a lower level and begun to write a Death Note x reader story, wooooow! NOTE: NOT A LEMON It's the middle of the Kira case and you couldn't care less. You do some tech work, gather information and take people out for L, you do anything he needs to scrape together a little cash for yourself. It doesn't matter, it's all child's play compared to the extent of your abilities. All you want to do is play games and survive this stupid case. You're top of all the leaderboards on all of the many games you play, except for one, where a player by the name of Mail takes your place on 1st. They start to climb all of the leaderboards and constantly challenge you, distracting you from your work. Time passes and you start to get attached to Mail, but can you really be falling for one of your biggest competitors? Who really is Mail? Why are they so content on taking your place on top? Will L notice the change in you? More importantly, will you survive the Kira case?
