Thorn Evergreen's parents have died, and now she has to move out of her childhood home. Her friends help her find a place of her own, but the graveyard, ironically, becomes her back yard. The rental home she moves into is right next to a graveyard and funeral home. The mortician (Alan Rickman) is her new landlord. After a few days at her new home she finds some of her landlord's possessions odd, but nothing could prepare her for how twisted the town actually is.
