The rescuing of Eri had just finished, and the young girl is still in the hospital. Nobody knows what to do with her, since her mother abandoned her, and her grandfather is unable to take care of her. So, U.A. decides its best that for now the six year old on their campus. None of the teachers are able to take care of her since they all have many other responsibilities, and can't afford to be a parent. Mirio is basically in a depressive episode, so he wouldn't be the best at being a guardian at the moment. So, the last person left would be Izuku, since Eri trusts him after he rescued the child. However, with this, Izuku needs a partner, someone who can help him. After all, raising a child is a lot of work. He invites Uraraka to work with him to raise the girl, and together they help make her life the best that they can.
