'Second Chances' is a continuation of the love story between Elio Perlman, and his summertime guest, Oliver, in the Italian Rivera. A year has passed since their whirlwind romance ended and Elio has moved on. Oliver's mid-winter phone call led him to believe that the older man had too. Life goes on. You cherish the memories you were able to make with the time you had. You most certainly don't go back to rekindle the passion that resulted in countless consequences. Or do you?

Composed of 22 stanzas, it contains the thoughts and emotions of Elio since his lover, Oliver, has left. It takes us back to their moments together and allows us to feel the longing that exists in their love story.
