When he was a kid, Midoriya Izuku was hit by an unknown Quirk. He was found a few days later, unharmed. He was gone for just a few days to the world, and he never told anyone where he'd been. Who would believe that he'd been sent back in time several hundred years to the Pre-Quirk Era? That he'd been adopted by a pair of circus performers who gave him the name Richard Grayson? That he, Quirkless Midoriya Izuku, had become Robin, the Boy Wonder, famed partner to the Old Hero, Batman. Yeah. Nobody was going to believe that. At least he could become a LEGAL hero, now.

After being left behind by All Might on the rooftop, Izuku starts to see the world in a different way. He realises he doesn't need to be a hero to save people. A vigilante will do. And Aizawa is a tired caterpillar who cares too much for the kitten who roams the streets.

Izuku is tired. He knows he should heal and yet he cannot bring himself to do so. What if he allows just a hint of who he really is to shine through? Maybe it'll break the armour he made for himself all those years ago... This contains ende*whore hate and a hint of villain deku. It's a lot of trauma and angst, paired with fluff, because I can't help myself.

Izuku Midoriya is not having a good day. It started off fine (sorta) -But everything that was said that day lead him through a series of unfortunate events to The Shift. And The Shift? Well, it left him an orphan in a time he didn't exist- A time where not even his beloved heros existed.

A black cap adorned by a golden S fit atop Izuku's bushy, green hair. Frizzling on pure anxiety, his nerves jerked about randomly, causing his fingers barely reaching past black sleeves to tremble. As Izuku clasped a hand around his backpack, his breath was stolen by the fallen picture frame of both him and his deceased mother. "Midoriya!" Fukukado yelled from the kitchen. With all of Izuku's nerves on overdrive, he jumped high up. He scurried out the door as soon as he landed. -- People watched her walk by. Camie twirled her strands of brown hair as she popped a bubblegum, wondering if she could make friends this go around. Doubt ate at her more, though. -- Lazily gazing across the road before curling his eyes up in glee, Shindou spotted his mini-me from the entrance exam trailing behind an aquamarine-haired lady (Ms. Joke, he remembered). -- Inasa smiled ear to ear as he beat the pavement beneath his feet with a powerful march. His lips strained hard, but he could do this. -- Seiji huffed as he glared at the newsfeed on his phone in his empty house. -- The principals of UA and Shiketsu High friendly drank tea during their face call, unbeknownst to the Hero Public Safety Commission. -- Something was changing. ...everything would be. -- WARNINGS - major character deaths - profanity - angst - bullying - self-deprecation - slow story (update+story-wise) NO SHIPS. I combined Ketsubutsu and Shiketsu High since there are few students that we know from either school. Also, they're all going to be first years. Unlike my first published BNHA fanfic, I'm not going to sprinkle annoying A/N's throughout my writing, only before/after the chapters.

He's a confident, suave hero whose had years upon years of experience. If you met him, you'd never guess that his middle school self was a blubbering mess who got bullied, or that he started of high school a socially awkward and inept fighter. Izuku Midoriya couldn't believe it himself, but he's forced to acknowledge that past a little more when he's stuck in his high school body, memories intact but physical prowess a little spotty. In one day, his classmates see this mediocre student become something much greater, an inspiration that makes them strive for more. Midoriya will have to remember his previous life, or mess up the entire timeline with his self sacrifice actions. *** Cover is subject to change, but rest assured this is what adult Midoriya will look like in this story. Also! I've decided to change Midoriya's younger costume because present day Midoriya is smart enough to know that his mental memories will bleed into his muscle memory. One thing to note, I really love Izuku Midoriya, and think he deserves all things good and pure in this world, so he may seem a bit like a Gary Stu. I mean, villains will hate him, and he'll still fail in the same places as the anime\manga, but like, not as badly? I guess. Just... This is a story for people who don't wanna shove Midoriya down a toilet (so not for Bakugo). But... He has had lots of experience, so he'd be better than what he is in the anime, y'know, realistically speaking. Whatever, I write how I want to.
