Discover some of the writing tips from Wattpad Star and formerly featured author of 'Trapped'. I have completed my share of beta reads and critiques for new authors on and off Wattpad and many of the points I have noted are often repeats - something that I used to find in my own writing as well, but have stopped (or tried to stop) over the years. It's hard starting out, but it's even harder when no one points out your mistakes. I hope you will find this guide useful to detect some of those problem areas and pick up tips on how to avoid common mistakes. Writing is an art and takes practice. There is no corner cutting - you can only improve if you keep at it. Interested? Well, then let's explore some of the common traps I've seen...

Computer updates are simple, right? That's not always the case when it involves a Spaceship's AI in the middle of deep space. We have always relied upon technology to travel through space, but sometimes that very same technology develops a mind of its own... *** Rachel, a junior assistant in the cargo bay, wasn't prepared for the spaceship's AI to gain awareness during what should have been a routine update, nor had anyone expected it to take exception to the crew and the crates of illegal cargo aboard. Rachel races against time to try and get life-saving systems back online while stranded in the middle of deep space. Unfortunately for her, the AI can access every system, door, and airlock. As truths emerge, the AI realizes that even computers can make miscalculations, and it focuses on the young woman who had dared to confront it. Rachel is left floundering when the AI decides that she would make an excellent captain, albeit one in need of training. As she struggles to learn her new duties and dodge shady government groups, she must ultimately discover what it truly means to be a Starship Captain. ------- There is no romance in this story. Welcome to the wonderful world of writing on Wattpad! This is Wattpad, not the Olympics, so there's no need to panic. Anyone can try it, no training required. Writing doesn't have to be complicated, and you don't have to be a graduate of some fancy university, but there are a few guidelines that will make things easier for you and your readers. I have tips for beginners who paid as little attention in English as I did, as well as details on things I've learned over the years. Anyone can write a story. I never thought I would write anything, but I tried it and - much to my surprise - I found it very relaxing and entertaining. Feel free to skip around the chapters to find sections that interest you. You are also welcome to skim everything in case you find a hidden gem of advice. Please note that my writing tips follow the Chicago Manual of Style writing guide (you are free to use a different guide - keeping things consistent is the biggest thing).

The world as humanity knew it was gone. In its place was a radioactive wasteland, scorched by nuclear furnaces. The third millenium passed unmarked and uncelebrated by those in the safezones. The rich took to the oceans, and to the skies, leaving everyone else behind. Stranded in the isolated "safe zones", with no knowledge of the worlds above their heads. Igor Jonovich changed everything. Nanotechnology, long thought to be impossible, flourished under his genius. Even as the walls of their radioactive cage closed in, humanity pushed back, harnessing Jonovich's creations to explore the radioactive wastelands. To challenge the twisted creatures that lurked in the ashes of their former glory. Humanity thought they, at least, knew this scarred earth. It turns out even that was a lie. Yesterday Jared found a message hidden within Professor Jonovich's greatest work that changed everything.

Solo (or, as people pronounce his name, Soro) spends his days in quiet isolation, haunted by ghosts and shadowed by regrets. Two years ago, he vanished from the world, hiding in a remote village from a bounty that no one can trace but everyone seems eager to claim. When a swarm of Yakuza goons-and something far darker-descends upon his sanctuary, Solo is forced to awaken from his long sleep. He must return to a world he thought he'd left behind to reunite with people who are no longer who they once were. But Solo's journey stretches beyond this lifetime alone. His path is tangled in a vast chain of reincarnations, a story that has cycled through thousands of years of love, loyalty, friendships, betrayal, and ambition. Between a looming vision of ultimate destruction and an eternal longing for Mahoroba-the promised land, a place of perfect escape-Solo must confront the weight of choices made across lifetimes. "Tartarus: The End of Childhood" is an epic tale of bonds forged and broken, of battles that linger beyond death, and of a quest to discover if peace is ever truly possible-or if it's just a forgotten myth, lost in the depths of time and the horrors of growing up.
