Seventeen year-old Eliza Taylor's latest run-in with New York City Police lands her on a bus with a one way ticket to the small town of Blackwater. Unimpressed with being an indentured servant for her cranky and ridiculously ancient aunt, Eliza soon finds hope when she meets Dante, another of her aunt's employees, as well as Chase, the cute boy-next-door who works at his dad's hardware store. Unfortunately, Eliza's panache for getting into trouble rears its ugly head when she discovers her aunt's shop sells more than just postcards from 1988. Her aunt's "private showroom" houses each of the seven deadly sins: Pride, Envy, Wrath, Avarice, Lust, Gluttony, and Sloth. But stopping her evil aunt from damning the souls of unsuspecting teens has a price - and that price might very well be Eliza's eternal soul. Can Eliza survive her evil aunt, outwit the dark master she serves, and keep a few souls out of Hell, including her own? She's not so sure, but seeing as how she likes her soul in the upright and firmly out-of-hell position, she's gonna give it her best shot. Hopefully her best won't end up killing her and ruining her afterlife - God knows her normal life is hard enough! **Copyrighted Material: Bad Company Copyright © Wendy Nelson 2012 All Rights Reserved. "...one by one the lights flickered off. The air-conditioner stopped functioning and the room was flooded with the humid warmth of mid-spring. From the bedroom, I heard the TV shut off as sounds of the football match abruptly cut off. A loud rumble that sounded like huge machinery cranking echoed through the corridors. The last bulb flickered off, and we were left enveloped in total darkness. Ruby's soft whimpers drifted into the bathroom. A last drop of water that had been hanging on the opening of the tap fell loose, hitting the sink with an unusually deafening 'plop'. A sick feeling began to rise in my stomach. Something has changed, something has happened. My life would no longer be mundane." A normal peaceful evening escalates into a nightmare when the school dormitory is placed on lockdown and Emaline is trapped inside. Armed with nothing but a baseball bat, Emaline will have to fight her way through new terrors that have arisen, friends that have turned into flesh hungry monsters and hostile troops. And every bite is fatal. A new world order has arrived, and you'd better learn the rules fast. Rated PG-13...I think? Just be prepared for some gory descriptions and strong language. Other than that, mostly just good zombie scares. ;)

[ UNFINISHED] "Twenty five years. It had been nearly 25 years since the epidemic had first occurred." "Remembrance" is an apocalyptic narrative that tells the story of two young adults, named Michael and Elizabeth, who travel across the ruins of southern Texas in search of a colonized city. Unfortunately, it's not as easy as it sounds. There are several dangerous and difficult obstacles standing in their way. First, there are the Infected. These are individual human beings who have contracted the Kuru disease, which has basically turned them into a cannibalistic, prion-controlled monsters who only have the desire to consume flesh. Next, there are the Masks. The Masks are groups of raiders that travel across the unprotected ruins of Texas in search for supplies, money, and the majority of the times, blood. Finally, there are the driving forces of insanity creeping in on them. With all of the killing and emotionally traumatic experiences they must face, how can anyone stay sane? Remembrance presents the themes of good and evil in one of the most thought-provoking, heart-pounding narratives of this genre. 2015. Santiago Balderas. All Rights Reserved
