For days, months, even years people talked about the witch and the wizard that had danced together during the kings ball. After a few happy years together, Howl and Sophie had concieved a child. whilst she grew up, her best friend was the little fire demon that moved their floating house in the sky. growing up beautifully, calcifer soon grows affection towards the sweet girl with purple tinted silver eyes and silver hair down to her waist. whilst he was a fire demon, he has to find a way to be with her even for a little while, not as a fire in the hearth. he consults a spirit that may be of help to him. having attained the form of a human only for a period of time. will she find out who he is and feel the same way. Emotions will occur as they spend more time together...

The Witch of the Waste has caught up to Howl, forcing him to come to the realization that the best way to escape her is breaking his curse. He takes up residence in Sophie's hat shop where he spends his days hiding from the Witch, dropping hints on curse-breaking, and learning the ails of retail.
