The King paces in his room. In his hand, he holds a picture. The girl in the picture is beautiful. She has long, glowing red hair, and a teasing smile on her face. Her name is America Singer and Maxon loves her more than anyone else in the world. But the King must bury the picture deep within his drawer before he goes to greet the Queen. Because America Singer is not the Queen

What if Maxon didn't pick America? What if the rebels didn't attack that day? What if Maxon's mind wasn't changed? What if he regretted it for the rest of his life? Maxon and Kriss rule all of Illea. Maxon is miserable, but Kriss is oblivious. She is also very overruling. After ten years of miserable fighting, Maxon finally convinces Kriss to allow him to remove the castes. With the help of the northern rebels, Maxon thinks he can do it. That is until he finds out that one of the rebels they sent is the one and only America Singer, who fell into her fathers footsteps.

The Selection is progressing well and everything is more than fine for America Singer. That is, until King Clarkson has gotten sick of seeing his son and heir to the throne flirt with a lowly Five. Eliminating her from the competition, he hopes this is the end and Maxon will settle for some other girl, but with the help of maids, rebels, and Aspen, can America find her way back to Maxon? I rewrote Maxon's mistake better than the last. It's also completely different but a nice twist itll end the same so read. If you haven't read maxons mistake it's about if Maxon chose kriss.
