A Collection of Philippine Short Stories in English from a few Filipino writers whose words can enthrall and satisfy a new generation of readers. All rights reserved to authors and writers whose works may appear in this collection. This book contains short stories that are featured notably in Philippine Literature Textbooks for Secondary and Higher Education. These stories compiled aim to be made accessible to readers and writers in training alike to better appreciate and comprehend the complexity and diversity of Philippine culture, history, and society. 2-3 stories will be added per week depending on availability. This is a collection of short stories and poems written in English and Filipino as our entry for the SOX Zine Fest 2020. With the collaboration of my two friends, we made this compilation with all our whims, fears, and musings into. I hope you like it! Carpe diem!

This book is written for non-native and native speakers of English alike. What gets revealed if you are a native speaker of English reading this book is what really goes through the mind of a person learning English as a second language. Topics include the toughest challenges ESL students are facing such as: How To Learn English Fast How To Sound Like a Native Speaker How To Improve Your Vocabulary I Can Read, Write in, and Understand English, But I Can't Speak It You Speak Too Fast! My English is Poor Writing this book is one of the scariest decisions I've ever done. I did even ask myself, "Why are you doing this? Why do you have to spend so much time contributing your thoughts and words? Why do you have to spend days and sleepless nights and months crafting this book, improving it, editing it? Why?" Because I CARE! I can't help but F***ING care! I am seeing ESL students-from the richest to the least privileged-who have trouble with English, and they're getting worse. To help, I wonder if I could share a bit of my story.

What makes a human being unique? Different from other living beings? This is a question that everyone of us has come across at one point of life or the other, and undoubtedly different people have different opinions in this regard. But that one thing that everyone will agree to is 'the way human beings communicate'. Their ability to think, reason, and express makes them unique. In the words of Oliver Wendell Holmes, "Language is the blood of the soul into which thoughts run and out of which they grow." Language is one of the most important tools for communication. It, not only aids in the communication of thoughts and ideas, but also helps in developing relationships, social and economical, and strengthening cultural ties. A language, not only respects the differences, but also celebrates the uniqueness of cultures in a country. It opens our minds and leads us into the enthralling world of dreams and fancies. ------------------ This book, in here, contains the basic rules of English Grammar that we all have learnt in our childhood, but somewhere down the line we have forgotten as well. So, this book is an attempt to brush up all those rules, not only for you but for me as well. I hope you all will find this book helpful.
