Fünf Elemente. Eine Schule. So heißt es zumindest. Was kaum einer weiß: Auf dieser Welt gibt es so viel mehr. Und es hängt mit der Vergangenheit der fünf Elemente zusammen. Mika lebt bei ihrer Mutter und führt ein wohlbehütetes und gewöhnliches Leben. Bis sie angegriffen wird und ohne Vorwarnung in die Welt der Elementare geworfen wird. Ab da an ist nichts mehr, wie es einmal war. Alles, was Mika gekannt hatte, scheint nicht mehr die selbe Bedeutung zu haben. Als sie dann auch noch einen Brief erhält, der sie auf das Internat für Elementare einlädt, glaubt sie, in dieser Welt endlich Fuß zu fassen. Doch wie soll sie unterrichtet werden, wenn keiner weiß, was für ein Elementar sie ist? Zudem scheint es auch noch eine Gruppe skrupelloser Elementare auf sie abgesehen zu haben. Dies macht es ihr nicht gerade leichter, sich in ihrem veränderten Leben einzufinden. Außerdem ist nichts, wie es auf den ersten Blick scheint.
