"You're lying to me," I croaked out. Aleksander didn't even flinch. The bastard knew, from the moment I wasn't in bed, that I had some idea of what he had done. Of course he wouldn't break down a door for no reason. "I don't want you worrying about it." "I'm Ravka's queen." It was more of a desperate plea than a statement of fact. "You're my wife before you're anything else," he murmured, pressing his hand to the side of my neck to lull me into the darkness of his touch, of sleep. *** Alina was safe. Aleksander was benevolent. Everything had been going perfect. But one year later, the Shu are a greater threat than ever and Alina is thrust into a dangerous pregnancy. When Aleksander refuses to give Alina the freedom she needs, old problems resurface *** DARKLING x ALINA FANFIC SEQUEL TO "MEANT TO BE MY BALANCE"

A shadow snaked up my arm, a gentle caress, a brush of the night. "My name, Alina." I lifted my head. "Please, Aleksander." The darkness fell away and the nichevo'ya went still. The Grisha stopped and faced us. I barely registered Mal's horrified gaze. "Stand." My knees shook, but I pushed myself to my feet and stared into the Darkling's quartz eyes. Lifeless. Empty. Victorious. - The Darkling's forces are too great. The nichevo'ya, the Grisha, the merzost... Alina Starkov has no choice but to surrender and become the Darkling's Queen. - DARKLING X ALINA FANFIC TAKES PLACE AFTER CH 11 RUIN AND RISING (SPOILERS) I update Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays! ༶•┈┈ ♛ ┈┈•༶ "You really want me to shy away like I used to? Like your little mouse?" I pierce him with every word. The Darkling stares back and for a while the only thing that moves in the room are the shadows. "Alina, you misunderstand me. I have waited centuries for someone like you. Centuries, Alina, alone. I do not need to answer your question. You know what I want." Please don't say it, I think. "I want you to be my Queen, Alina." He pushes off from his chair and I shiver in my seat as he pauses by my side. The Darkling's hands find my chin and he holds my head tenderly with both hands. My power sparks at his touch like fire to kindling and I have to clench a hand in my dress skirt to keep control. He makes sure my gaze is entirely on him when he says, "And you know you will." I shake underneath the pressure of his words and he strokes my chin to calm me. Fine, but he has no idea what he is asking for. I shall be a queen, but not his. And he will regret the day he forced me back at his side like a dog. Aleksander, I think, bow. ༶•┈┈ ♛ ┈┈•༶ It starts with burst of light, like it did in the beginning. Every time a Sun Summoner dies, there is a burst of light. With every flashing death, Alina can feel a strong hum of power return to her. Fearing the loss of her new life, she sets out on a mission to the Little Palace with hopes her old friends could help her. Little does Alina know, a familiar shadow sits on the throne of Grisha. As a whirlwind of events sets her right back on square one, Alina makes a vital decision to change everything. Still, she finds herself teetering in the edge of letting the Darkling and her powers swallow her up. The Sun Summoner has grown and she can no longer be a saint. She has to be a queen. ༶•┈┈ ♛ ┈┈•༶ This is a Grisha trilogy fanfiction that takes place after Ruin and Rising. All rights belong to Leigh Bardugo. VERY SLOW BURN Darklina!

Sam is the most promising swordsman among this year’s crop of Paladin trainees...and knows it. Brash, cocky, and unbeatable with a sword (well, almost), Sam is the kingdom of Thule’s best hope against the violence wrought by demons. The only problem is that Sam is really Lady Samantha, daughter of the seventeenth Duke of Haywood, and if her father has his way, she’ll be marrying a Paladin, not becoming one. But Sam has never held much interest in playing damsel-in-distress, and so she rescues herself from a lifetime of boredom and matrimonial drudgery. Pity that Tristan Lyons, the Paladin assigned to train her, is none other than the hero of her childhood. He hasn’t recognized her as Lady Samantha--yet-- but if he does, he’ll take away her sword and send her packing. Sam is not the only trainee hiding secrets: Braeden is a half-demon with a dark past that might be unforgivable. Sam, Braeden and Tristan set out for the western coast, charged with rooting out an infestation of demons that has made the West unlivable. As they travel, they uncover a deep-seated corruption of power that threatens to derail everything they stand for. Rebellion stirs, led by a rival faction of warriors who tempt Sam to join them with an irresistible offer. A war between men is coming, and Sam must pick a side. Will saving the kingdom cost her life -- or just her heart? Reminiscent of Mulan, but with a medieval fantasy twist, Paladin is a tale of adventure, action, and romance.

A world where magic must be hidden from mankind is a world where mages have no reason to exist. Zara was one of them--a young woman forced to spend her days in confinement, to lessen the risks of outsiders discovering the truth. She was not human. She was, as they say, a living embodiment of a thousand year old curse upon the Kingdom and humanity as a whole. And the only way to handle a curse, is to get rid of it--which is precisely what the Kingdom has proceeded in doing for centuries--eliminating any being that contained even an ounce of enchanted blood. Zara's lived most of her life with the threat of death hanging over her head. Though this never averted her heightening curiosity about magic, nor the abilities innate within her. And when a powerful, enigmatic Sorcerer comes to her with a proposition, Zara finally sees her chance to embrace the curse she was born with. It was a chance laced with precarity and destruction, but a chance nonetheless...

Ever since the Beast overthrew the King three years ago, the country of Fabel has been on the edge of chaos and Annalise's nameless village is one of many places hanging onto order by a fraying thread. With only a thin stretch of danger infested forest away from the old castle, it's prime hunting ground for the Beast. As if fending off regular attacks weren't enough, denying the advances of a monster hunter turns out to be harder than it ought to be, especially since Anna already has an engagement ring on her finger. But it only takes one broken bargain to shatter everything Annalise knows. To save her father from a fatal mistake, Anna agrees to take his place as the Beast's prisoner. But she hasn't given up on going home so she strikes a deal of her own. She can leave the castle, but only if she breaks the curse that binds the Beast - a curse he can't tell her how to break. But as Anna struggles to figure out how to release the Beast from his enchantment before time runs out, she catches the attention of the Enchantress who first cast it, an Enchantress with a long memory and unfinished business. And she doesn't plan on fighting fair. (Formerly Red as Roses)
