This is my entry for Maybelline's #BraveTogether mental health awareness month. This is my story of struggling with depression, combating my ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder), and struggles with suicidal, and harmful thoughts.
This is actually my first time coming out about my recovery. It just always seemed like something to keep a secret. It was embarrassing. To be honest, to society, depression and suicidal thoughts or actions aren't normal, and the people who are having them should be avoided. We need to listen to others, to others who are saying things that don't seem normal. You never know if that person is joking around or is actually serious. No matter what, if someone is talking about suicidal things, you need to immediately talk to someone.
I am Grace Flint and I will listen.
