Whilst Percy surrounds himself around his friends in an attempt to distract himself from the fact that he's failing in all his classes, Annabeth sits alone in the corner of her class, happy to stray away from expectation and popularity. When their two paths meet, they feel an instant connection, but must keep this in secret as the two realize their lives are not made for one another. As their secret slowly comes out into the open, jealousy, betrayal and mockery threaten to pull them apart.
