Zac Carter had spent one week out of every year at Emily Dawson's house since he was fifteen. It was the week his parents had their 'alone' time as they liked to call it. He was thinking of bailing on it this year, telling them he was old enough to be on his own for a week. Then he remembered sad, strange Emily who he's had a crush on for the longest time. I watched Reese lips move as he read out the contents of the letter, then I watched everyone's faces as they took in the words that were coming off the paper. As I looked around the small group, I realized that these were the people that I had no choice but to depend on for awhile, and one of them was going to get hurt. It didn't matter if we did everything right, someone was bound to get hurt in this game and I couldn't help but to feel like it would be all my fault.
